An Auspicious Day

Today is my architect’s birthday. It is the 6th birthday I’ve helped him celebrate – which simultaneously seems like a lot and not that many. We’ve been together for 5 ½ years, and married for 1 ½. When we started out, we were in our early 30s & mid 20s; - the differences between 25 [...]

The unkindest cut of all….

I forgot to relay the worst event of the whole weekend. This terrible event made me sad and grumpy and (if you listen to the architect) proved that I am more than a little insane.
Saturday, I was doing yard work. In fact, I believe that I was weeding at the time (I love weeding [...]

A Good Weekend

My day of leisure

I keep expecting to have one, but so far, not so much.
I had a benefits seminar this morning at my new job, and then spent eleventy-billion hours at the doctors. (nothing wrong with me!  except my incredibly low heart rate which alarmed the nurse & the EKG machine.)
Then, I had to deposit my first paycheck [...]

Well, that sucked….

I went back & forth all week on whether or not I was going to attempt. Friday night, I decided not to - based on a number of factors, not least of which was the forecast. Later that night, I decided to go for it.
It sucked. I had so much doubt about [...]
