Shoesday!

I am here with some shoe-like cheer today! Next week, we’ll have a preview of new spring styles that I love but will not buy, due to upcoming baby (he’s not even born and already he’s ruining everything! ha!)

But today, in honor of our snowpocalypse – picture to follow – I’m doing cute winter boots for people who actually really get snow.

All four of today’s featured boots are, in theory, great for snowy & wet winter weather. This first one doesn’t SAY it’s waterproof, but it sure looks like it could be:

Stuart Weitzman Snowflake

These are cute and just exude an aura of warmness – I think it’s the furry top (which also kind of exudes an aura of muppet….)

ANYWAYS – WARM! And shiny!

Sporto Roxy

This third one give me hope that I could actually wear it. It’s short, which means less having to work around my ginormous calves of power. Also – RED! It probably wouldn’t work for places that measure snow in feet rather than fractions of an inch, but it would be just fine for our annual snowpocalypse that we have here in Portland!

Sperry Top-Sider Shearwater

Cute AND utilitarian, right?

This last pair left me a little…confused. It says they’re waterproof. And yet – they’re suede, which I tend to not wear in places where waterproof is important. They are pretty – I’m just not sure what to do with the waterproof suede boot. Maybe just buy them and then spend some quality time caressing them and whispering sweet nothings to them in my shoe closet. (I don’t really have an entire closet devoted to shoes – I just like to pretend.)

La Canadienne Caleb

And – just so you have a sense of what we’re dealing with here in Portland, I took a picture of the snowpocalypse in my front yard this morning. Prepare to be amazed at our resilience!

It is much snowier at work, but I work several hundred feet higher in the air. (Like on a cloud! Or a sky castle! Or on a hill…whatever.)

Final question – was I the only one who had to wear plastic grocery bags inside their snow boots to keep their feet dry in the winter? Was it because bootsmanship was shoddy in the 80s, or because we couldn’t afford waterproof boots?

Happy shoesday, y’all!

Shoesday! Reality Edition!

You guys – I bought a pair of boots on Friday. And they are awesome for two important reasons:

1. They zip over my calves (and don’t have the extra zipper like my other knee-high boots do), and

2. They have a great heel, some excellent buckle detailing, and are beautiful, beautiful leather.

They are also the most expensive pair of shoes I’ve ever purchased, but I believe that the cost/use will end up being very small. I paid about $180 for them after discounts, which means so far, they have cost $90/wear, and I’ve only had them for four days.  This bodes well.

Ecco Hobart Boot

And, because I own them, here they are ON….

I need new tights. Those are the only pair I have right now.  Aren’t they great, though?

Anyone else have exciting new shoe purchases?

Shoesday! Boots (Again).

I did not end up shoe shopping over Labor Day weekend, as my shoe shopping partner ditched me, and I spent the weekend crying into a gin glass working on my bathroom remodel, instead.

I am still craving boots.

Especially these:

Frye Vera Boot

And these:

Vince Camuto Laird

Oooh – and these:

Hive & Honey - Ivan

And these:

Frye Carson Buckle

But I think, maybe, especially these:

Woper - Steven by Steve Madden

I need boots! Fall is upon us!  BUT, I need to try tall boots on in person (due to calves of power).

Do you have any fall shoe shopping plans?

******

Also – shout out to Piperlime. I sent back a pair of shoes, and apparently, although I had them all ready to send back within the return timeline, by the time I actually found a UPS drop box and they made their way back to Ohio, it was past the deadline. SADFACE! BUT, Piperlime called me to let me know that because I am such a great customer (which I’m assuming is code for: you spend a LOT of money with us), they were taking them back anyways. So yay! Buy shoes from Piperlime!

Also, boots. I really love boots. A lot. I really want to be able to wear knee-high boots. Alas! My running calves of power prevent me from doing so comfortably. BUT – a girl can dream. And you can dream with me.

My favorite fall boots from Piper Lime:

Ciao Bella Taryn

These look comfortable and work appropriate. I’ve kind of been all about that lately.

Frye Carson Pull On

I’m not sure why, but lately I’ve really been wanting a pair of cowboy boots. They just look so comfy. I need to go shoe shopping, I think.

Enzo Angiolini Karissa

Aren’t these gorgeous? Look at that fantastic heel and those sleek lines. These are ass kicking boots.

Frye Melissa Button

Again, with the riding style. What’s up with that? Am I trying to get back to my country roots?

And lastly:

Seychelles Incognito

These are also great. They are very elegant and would look great with skinny jeans or a skirt. What truly makes them awesome, though, is the back:

Seychelles Incognito - back

Isn’t that great? I love lace-up detail. A lot. I don’t know why, but anything with lacing in the back gets a +++ from me!

Happy Shoesday!

PORN!

It is cold here in the Pacific Northwest. Not “freezing your balls off” cold, or even “freezing your wet hair” cold. But cold for us. The temperature dropped below 20 last night! That is full of the crazy (we don’t often get below freezing…which is one of the reasons I live here).

However, even when it’s not wicked cold, it is generally pretty wet in the winter.

It was brought to my attention recently that it’s weird that I don’t own a single pair of snow or rain boots. Not one.

So – in honor of our cold (and frequently wet) weather, and shoe porn Wednesday, here are some fairly cute snow & rain boots.

First – some warm & cozy snow boots. I feel that it’s safe to say, after viewing the boots I’ll post below, that I have a (not-so-) secret craving for furry, fuzzy boots:

White Mountain Tantalas

Sorel Joan of Arctic

How awesome is the name of these boots. Joan of Arctic. LOVE IT!

Sporto Kristen

And next – some ridiculously cute rain boots. Which, again, I think it’s clear that (the royal) we do not do plain, boring rain boots. We need color! And patterns! And fun! And welly socks! (Who doesn’t need welly socks? Who doesn’t want to say welly socks?! WELLY SOCKS!)

WELLY SOCKS!

Burberry Check Print Rain Boot

Sperry Top-Sider Pelican

Sporto Twinkle

Also in plaid! With laces! How cute is this?

Kate Spade Randi

This totally my style of rain boot. I need this rain boot. This is the most awesome rain boot in the history of rain boots. A bow! And a heel! (I am very easily excitable today, aren’t I?) This would go perfectly with everything I own – especially if I had a pair of WELLY SOCKS to wear under it.

My feet feel warmer & dryer already.

Have a happy Thanksgiving, American readers! And a happy Thursday everyone else!

(PS – let me know if you have a special shoe porn request!)
