(The Return of) Shoe Porn!

You guys! I know – it’s been ages since I’ve done regular shoe porn. I was all angsty & sad that I couldn’t go out and buy all the pretty shoes.

I was totally not going to post shoe porn again until 6 months post surgery, when I can reasonably expect my feet to be normal-sized again and can start wearing heels. Which I had every intention of doing, knowing that in 5ish years or so, I’d have to have the same surgery on my other foot.

Well, surprisingly, considering how pain-free this surgery & recovery has been, I have decided that five years is waaaay too soon to do this again. In fact, never might be too soon.

So, in the interest of trying to put of foot surgery as long as possible, I am having to make a lifestyle change. And that lifestyle change is no more regular wearing of high heels (which sucks, I am barely 5’2″! I need extra height!) and no more pointy-toed shoes (my feet, they are tiny, and I love the extra length the pointy toes give me).

However, since I’d really rather be able to run AND never have foot surgery again, I have decided that high heels and pointy toes are going to be a sometimes shoe.

*sigh*

To this end, however, I need to find a new shoe wardrobe! (Bright side to everything!)

I think that very low heels will be okay – there is (as was pointed out to me on Facebook) such a thing as going too flat.

I am not buying any new shoes over the internet for a while, because I don’t know how they will fit, but here are a few future possible styles.

PS – what do you all think of the cuffed boot trend? I think it’s cankle-making and hate it….

On Monday, I suffered a brief existential crisis. I was purse shopping (where do your crises happen?) and momentarily switched my allegiance from shoes to purses. Mostly because of this:

I actually offered to sell my soul for it, but no one showed up with a purse & a contract, so I am Prada-less. le sigh.

Yesterday, however, as I was continuing the purse shopping (to replace that which was stolen, and also because I can’t really buy new shoes right now due to Damian), I accidentally looked at shoes. And my allegiance is back.

Look at these! Drool!

That is a beautiful, beautiful boot. I know I can’t have it. When boot season rolls around, I’ll have a special fancy boot already (see below), plus no high heels for six months post surgery, plus my calves are ginormous & wouldn’t fit in those anyways, but still…maybe they’ll shave a bit off my calves while breaking my feet. It might be worth it.

Of course – I don’t want to leave out all my male readers with shoe fetishes, so Carolina John – this fall boot is for you!

This is for Glam!

It’s been ages, I know. BUT – my feet are angry. And I can’t really wear things that are cute.

I did recently get the following two pairs, though.

They are much shinier than they look on the internets. They also don’t fit over Damian, so they are post-surgery shoes. (Unfortunately, I put them in a box to return, threw said box in my trunk, and then promptly forgot about it for 90 days. I decided to keep them.)

The second pair is AWESOME!

Aren’t they gorgeous? They do fit over Damian, but will not be shoes that are made for walking.

I didn’t mention this on the blog (there are actually a lot of aspects of my life that I don’t talk about here – I know, you’re shocked that it’s not all gardens, running & shoes), but although I did tell you that I’d gotten into grad school, I didn’t mention that I thought I was going to have to drop out before it had even begun. I hadn’t gotten my financial aid notice, and classes start Monday. When I registered for classes, I put them all on my credit card. Today was the last day to drop classes & get all my money back. Today, I got my financial aid award information – and I’m covered. So, starting on Monday, I am officially a grad student.  This weekend we are not camping, because I don’t like to camp in the rain.

Instead, we will finish our patio, do some hiking & running, and light some fires (in our firepit, of course).

Also – PORN!!  As a result of the voting a few weeks ago, I got some shoes. Although not the ones that everyone voted for, because y’all voted for the wrong ones.

Instead, I got shoes #1. And I love them!

I had originally posted the brown ones (which have turquoise colored stones), but ended up buying the black. Although I may go ahead & get the brown ones, too.  They’re so awesome.

The second pair was purchased because my cute comfy flats that I like to wear when I’ll be standing for many hours died a horrible death (I’ve had three shoe-nerals in the last month…so sad).

Aren’t they so cute? And they were on clearance. (If you click through the link, they are only in kids’ sizes, but I have seen bonafide adults wearing them, so they must come in adult sizes somewhere. And yes, mine are kids’ shoes. I’m wee.)

I will work on more shoe porn for next week. Next week is going to be shoe porn for men by special request.
