It’s Still Snowing

It has snowed almost every day for the last seven days. This is starting to get weird. We have a couple of new inches on the ground in my neighborhood.

At this point, we are not even sure if we’ll venture out for the party tonight – although I do now have a kick-ass really hot dress (and new jewelry and a new bra and everything). To be honest, I’d rather not go – there has already been a couple of almost accidents right in front of my house.

My parents got in last night – although closer to midnight than the scheduled time of 11 PM. We’re sitting around being lazy right now. Soon, I will go get on the elliptical, and then fix my toenails (since I have open-toed shoes) and then decide if we’re going to venture out tonight.

PORN!!!

Before I get to the porn, I have to tell you – I love this working at home thing. I did not go to the gym last night to run, because on the (interminable) bus ride from my work to the gym bus stop, I nearly fell asleep. And I was standing. Squished between people, some of whom had not recently showered.

I slept for 10 hours last night. I got up at 8, wandered downstairs, made coffee & logged on. I’ve gotten quite a bit of work done, which is nice. The only trouble is my admin assistant, here. He keeps trying to help me file (by curling up ON my files).

I feel productive & happy. The only thing I didn’t do was have a healthy breakfast & then drink 32 oz of water.  BUT, I know I could do better.

In a few minutes, I will be getting on the elliptical (oh, how I wish I had a treadmill) as it is ridiculously snowy & blowy outside. The architect ventured out earlier, and pronounced it too icy for gazelles to run (especially crack-smoking gazelles).

After I’m done with work, I plan on a 90 minute yoga session. (Woo! double-workout today!)

BUT, the reason why you’re here – PORN! So, I actually worked more & surfed less at home than I do at work. Not sure why. I have a couple pairs of party shoes, because that’s what I’ve mostly been looking at. (My party dress should arrive today, and accessory tomorrow, and I already have kick-ass shoes, although I believe I might need to give myself a pedicure…blah.) I will post party-Amy pictures once everything arrives.

And holy crap, could I just stop rambling & post some damn shoe pictures already!! (And, as always, the shoes are linked to a place where you can make them your own.)

I think these are pretty fabulous, but really are only party shoes – not a lot of cross-over going on here!

They also come in black. But who doesn’t want a pair of red sequined shoes, right?

And, because affordable shoes are just no fun at all, there’s these (this is what my gold party shoes look like, when I have shoe fantasies):

Ahhh….so pretty.

AND speaking of expensive, yet breathtakingly beautiful shoes – check out The Stiletto Mom & her new arrival. Those are my dream shoes, people!  I am so jealous.  I’m hoping to suck up to her a lot, and then maybe swing by for a visit (not sure where she lives, whatever, details), and then maybe, just maybe, she’ll let me pet them. (Not that I’m a crazy stalker, stiletto mom – I promise! call me!)

Back to work!

Running in a Winter Wonderland

So – it is both cold & snowy. The Portland blogging running group (+Mr. Pi) did not meet this morning, due to uncertain roads – and I don’t know about the others, but I did go ahead & run.

I delayed a bit – the architect made omelets & coffee and we lounged a bit this morning. I’m currently reading Douglas Adam’s posthumous collection “The Salmon of Doubt” and felt like watching “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” while doing so.

Finally, at about 11, fully layered up, I walked outside. And then, I promptly walked back inside. “It’s really cold,” I informed the architect. He laughed at me.

I went back outside, waited around a bit for my Garmin to find the satellites, and then took off. I didn’t go my usual route, because I didn’t want to be dealing with wicked steep hills today, so I did my “run by all the parks in N. Portland” route. I had options for 5, 7.5, and something in between. I never did quite warm up, and although I quite enjoyed the first 3 miles, I knew that when I got to the turn to only do 5 miles, that’s what I was going to do. It was getting colder & there were starting to be slippery spots.

I did, however, get to run by Pier Park, which is one of my favorite parks, ever. When it’s a bit warmer, I’ll start running there again. There’s a series of trails that are about a mile or so, and it’s kinda nice to do laps in there – so many big, big trees. It’s beautiful.

Anyways – when I ran by Pier Park, I stopped to get some pictures:

They’re not the best photos, because a) I took them with my cell phone, b) I’m not the best photographer, and c) it was cold & I may have been shivering. I think they convey how pretty it is, though.

I hope everyone else is having a good Sunday & staying warm!
